Tripura Mathematical Society
Tripura Mathematical Society was established on January 7,1979 (Vide Regd.No.662 of 1979). Presently there are about 500 life members who are mostly teachers of schools, colleges and different universities / institutions of India and abroad. There are several life members from other professions also besides student members / annualmembers.
Mathematics Olympiad (for students of classes IX & X)
Started in 1981 to test knowledge, understanding, analysis and problem-solving skill in Mathematics and thereby identify a pool of talents and to prepare them for different talent search examinations. At present more than 2000 students appeared at this examination in 11 centers throughout the State. Top 20 position holders of the state and certain top position holders [about100] from each unit (as per number of the candidates appearing for the examination from that unit) are awarded TMS prizes and certificates. First three position holders receive the Satyabrata Mahapatra Memorial Scholarship.
Instructions to the applicants:
- Carefully fill up all the information correctly in the application form by clicking the link given below.
- Students who were in class IX or X as on 31st October 2024 are only eligible to appear in the Mathematical Olympiad.
- In the application form, the applicant should give the name of the subdivision in which his/her school lies in the appropriate place.
- Examination centre: The Aptitude test and Mathematical Olympiad will be tentatively held at 11 places across Tripura – Agartala, Amarpur, Belonia, Bishalgarh, Satirbazar, Udaipur, Khowai, Teliamura, Kamalpur, Kailasahar and Dharmanagar.
- Students have to mark his/her first and second choice of Examination centre in the application form. In case, the number of applicants is very less in his/her first choice examination centre, then the student will be assigned to the examination centre of his/her second choice.
- Applicants have to pay the examination fees to the following account:

- Payment can be done using any online payment method or by depositing the amount in any branch of State Bank of India. After successful payment, you have to upload the receipt of payment in the appropriate place of the application form. So, pay the fees and keep the softcopy of the payment receipt ready before filling up the online application form.
- You should be sure that the payment is successful. In case, the payment is found to be unsuccessful, the application will be rejected.
- Last date for submission of online form is 08.11.2024.
- In case any student is unable to apply online, they can download the offline application form given below, print it and submit the filled up application form along with the requisite examination fees to the unit secretary of the nearest TMS unit.

Aptitude Test (for Class – V)
Introduced in 1985 with an aim to test the ability and aptitude of the students at grass root level (Class V standard) and to encourage them to study fundamentals of mathematics and attract them to the subject. Kunjabasini Memorial Scholarship and Madhab Lal Chatterjee Memorial Medal are given to the first position holder. Dipak Sarkar Memorial Encouragement Cash prize are awarded to the 2nd & 3rd position holders. Top 20 position holders of the state and certain top position holders[about100]from each unit(as per number of the candidates appearing for the examination from that unit) are awarded TMS prizes and certificates. Moreover 1st position holder among girls will receive Anupama Basu memorial cash award and 1st position holder among boys will receive Birendranath Sikdar memorial cash award.
