Ganitkenoybhoy, Ganitkekaro Joy With this motivation and with the above objectives, Tripura Mathematical Society is undertaken the following different annual activities every year:
1. Aptitude Test (for Class - V) Introduced in 1985 with an aim to test the ability and aptitude of the students at grass root level (Class V standard)and to encourage them to study fundamentals of mathematics and attractthemt other subject.Kunjabasini Memorial Scholarship and Madhab Lal Chatterjee Memorial Medal are given to first position holder. Dipak Sarkar Memorial Encouragement Cash prize sare awarded to the 2nd & 3rd positions holders.Top 30 position holders of the state;topcertain place holders[about100] from each sub-division including Sadar Sub-division are awarded as pernumbers of the candidates.
2. PrashnaManch ( for Class VI) Prasna Manch on mathematics for class- VI is held on 22nd December in Sadar - Subdivision.
3. Speech competition for the students of classes-VII Speech competition on the topics from Ancient Indian Mathematicians & their works for the students of classes -VII of different schools. Generally two students from each school of Sadar Sub- Division are invited for this competition on December 21 .
4. Junior Mathematical Olympiad (for ClassVIII) . To popularize Mathematics throughout the Tripura state Junior Mathematica lOl ympiad(JMO)for the students of Class - VIII has been conducted by the Tripura Mathematical Society and Tripura State Council for Science and Technology(TSCST) jointly in all sub-divisions, and Agartala Municipal Corporation area/Sadar Sub-Divisionin Tripura since 2007. Top 30 position holders throughout the state and top 10 place holders from each sub-division (15 place holders in Sadar Sub-division) areawarded. 1st position holder in state receives the Radha Ranjan Deb Choudhury memorial silver medal.
5. Mathematics Olympiad (for students of classes IX &X) Started in 1981 to test knowledge, understanding, application, skill in mathematics, to identify a pool of talents and to prepare them for different talent search examinations. At present more than 2000 students appeared at this examination in 11 centers throughout the State. More than 100 students are awarded. First three position holders receive the Satyabrata Mahapatra Memorial Scholarship.
6. Inter-School Quiz on Mathematics ( for the Students of IX andX) Introduced in 1987 to stimulate Mathematical aptitude, encourage promptness and sharpness in thinking and increase in mathematical knowledge also to take mathematics as a kind of sports. Every year in September, Preliminary quiz contest is held at all the unit centres of Tripura Mathematical Society. Second round and semifinal are held on 21st December and final is held on 22nd December, the Mathematics Day . The Champion team is awarded the Chandraprava Memorial Running Trophy and all the members of the four teams in the final are awarded prizes.
7. Regional Mathematical Olympiad (for the students of X andXII Regional Mathematical Olympiad ( RMO ) is organized as prelude to Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) and International Mathematical Olympiad(IMO) since 1987 at Tripura. Tripura Mathematical Society is organizing it since 1990 at different centres of Tripura. The top 35 position holders of RMO are awarded with prizes.
8. Indian National Mathematical Olympiad(INMO) From 1990 to 2006 , the 4-5 successful candidates of Tripura had to appear Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) at Shillong.10 candidates from Tripura were in the Merit List in India so far. Out of them, Sri Mainak Podder of Shishu Bihar HS School and Sri Sauradeep Majumdar of NS Vidyaniketan and other two continued their studies in Mathematics without taking the Engineering or Medical courses. They got NBHM scholarships also. Since 2008 Tripura Mathematical Society is the coordinator for organizing Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (organized by National Board of Higher Mathematics, Bombay) at Agartala for Tripura Region. Since 2017, about 35 students of Tripura are appearing in INMO. One student of Class VIII was appeared for RMO in 2014.
